Of a little town

A piece written 28th April 2021

...

Lovely. Simply delightful and lovely.

The lissome feeling in the air.

The beautiful bunting hanging in the streets.

The stonework from days now past.

The countrified homeliness of its aspect.

Happy coal. Happy soles. Happy town!

Postscript

'Tis a treat indeed to visit with thee, my fair hamlet of [this] shire.

Farewell, little city, little cleft in the estuary of boats and buildings and bookshops.

Fare thee well. ✨

...

I remember writing this on a train as it rolled away on a beautiful afternoon.

Thank God for the opportunity to travel.
