WayMaker book review (snapshot)
WayMaker is a book about how to find the God-Way when life does not turn out as you dreamed.
It was written by Ann Voskamp and published by Thomas Nelson in 2022
WayMaker recap
My key lessons learned:
- Attachment to Jesus is crucial
- Life is about turning to Jesus and being attached which is repentance and sacrifice
- We must give up our own way for His way. Not my will but yours be done.
- Suffering and detours, our broken dreams, often make a way to get closer to Him.
He always makes a way.
It was a 5* book. I disagree with some of her theology on suffering (theodicy) as I think it overemphasises God's use of suffering to the point of ceasing to lose hope in His reviving power and love of healing.
Overall, it was a deep, precious call to cling to Jesus, to abide in Him, and to continually turn and make Him our only Way through life.
